My Favorite Seiyuu - Part 01

3rd day!!!

Ok, in this day, as you can see in the title this time, I will talk about my favorite Seiyuu. Well, I have two favorite Seiyuu, so I'll part this section into two days to talk about it. Of course some of you must already know what a seiyuu is. If there is any of you who do not know what it is Seiyuu, In short Seiyuu is a Voice Actor/Actress. For an Otaku, Seiyuu can be compared with an Idol.

On the part one of this section, the 1st Seiyuu that I'll talk about is Chihara Minori! Chihara Minori (茅原 実里, born November 18, 1980) is a voice actress who has had roles in several anime series, and a J-pop singer. As a Seiyuu, she works under the agency Avex Planning & Development, while in her musical career, she has been signed under King Records, Avex Trax, and is currently with Lantis. She was born in the city of Utsunomiya, Tochigi and was raised in Saitama. Her blood type is B, and is the middle child of three siblings consisting of an older sister and younger brother. She is affectionately referred to as "Minorin" (みのりん) by her fans.

Minorin start her career, on April 2003 to September 2003, as the assistant to Mariko Kouda's radio program "Kouda Mariko no GM" through an audition. Coupled with her winning first place at the "Seiyuu Grand Prix Club," acquired the right to work in the avex artist academy. In October, was chosen as one of the top 4 finalists for Pony Canyon, Inc.'s "Voice Artist & Singer Audition「VSオーディション2003」" sponsorship contest, but did not win the grand prize. She expressed regret for not winning, but commented about further disciplining herself to reach her dream.

And then, From April 2004 to September 2004, debuted her voice acting career as Aya Natsume in Tenjho Tenge.

For additional informastion of Minorin character's debut, Aya is the younger sister of Shin Natsume, and Maya Natsume. She is a freshman at Toudou Academy. She has brown hair (auburn in the anime). She is instantly infatuated with Souichiro Nagi when he crashes into the shower room, insisting that he marry her, as it is a tradition of the Natsume women that the first man to see her unclothed must become her husband. She pursues him relentlessly throughout the series despite his vehement protests. This attraction to Souichiro also leads to a rift between her and her sister, as Souichiro is in love with Maya.

And then, since then, Minorin's career slowly began to climb. And From April 2006 to September 2006, she plays the role of Yuki Nagato in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. This proves to be a breakout role for her, and raises her popularity substantially. After that, In July 2006, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya's ending theme single "Hare Hare Yukai" sung with Aya Hirano and Yūko Gotō reaches gold status. Not only that, In November 2006, she receives the Radio Kansai Award along with Yūko Gotō (Aya Hirano was not present during the ceremony due to illness) for the Animation Kobe Theme Song Award during the 11th annual Animation Kobe for their single "Hare Hare Yukai".

On the next year, On January 24 (2007), releases the single Junpaku Sanctuary, ending a two-year hiatus from her personal singing career (Her 1st album that released on In December 2004, releases her album Heroine under King Records, unfortunately, not quite able to increased her popularity).

Minorin is good at playing catch, as her father was a baseball coach, and she was a center fielder for her junior high school team. She wanted to play as an outfielder by any means, because she feared the danger presented to infielders from high-velocity, low-batted balls. She was also attracted to the charm of being able to catch fly balls. Coincidentally, her character Yuki Nagato in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya also played center in the episode "The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya".

Minorin is a lover of Tirol-Choco candy (especially the kinako-covered mochi kind). Her favorite types of food include salmon, squash, avocados, and shrimp. She likes to post news items about shrimp-related cuisine on her blog.

She is a big fan of Yutaka Ozaki and collected many of his albums before his untimely death. She also enjoys the group B'z, as they have often become the topic of her blog. Additionally, she admits to having belonged to a fan club of Hiroshi Inaba. She is also a fan of Miyuki Nakajima.

Well, I think that's enough of my reviewed about her. But, before we end this part, of course you all ask since when I liked her and became one of her big fans. It's all start when I watched Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekisou concert. when at the closing concert, she said, "Minna... Daisuki..." Yuki Nagato's voice. And when she said that, her look really lovely, in an instant, I'm falling in love her...

"Minna... Daisuki..."
